GGA was formed in 1983. From modest beginnings the company quickly grew to become well established and respected in the industry. We now employ nearly 90 staff, and alongside our sister company, W A Fairhurst, with 16 offices and 450 staff, we offer a truly national service.
Sevenoaks, just off the M25, was chosen as the main base due to the excellent communication links with London and the South East. A second office was opened in in Yeovil in 1989 to accommodate the demand for our services in the South West.
This relocated to Sherborne in 2002 and another office in Taunton opened in 2007. The Sherborne office merged with Taunton in 2009, and larger premises were acquired at Taunton in 2009 to acknowledge this expansion.
In 2008 we opened a London office in Victoria. This moved to bigger premises at Buckingham Palace Road in 2010 and became Fairhurst GGA, in recognition of our joint venture with our colleagues and partners at W A Fairhurst. For more details of London and W A Fairhurst please click on these links.
A complete range of structural and civil engineering services is provided by both offices, including building surveys, feasibility studies, reports and full engineering design. We use the latest analysis and design software and construction drawings are prepared in house utilising the latest CAD packages, including 3D BIM building modelling.
A major consideration of the practice is to prepare cost effective design solutions that best suit the specific requirements of the individual client. In order to control the quality and suitability of information issued by the practice, the partners and senior management maintain close involvement in all projects from conception to completion.
Quality Assurance is of prime importance and the practice is accredited to BS EN ISO 9001:2008. We are currently applying for ISO 14001 accreditation for our Environmental Management System.
